Our History
From a single ambition in 2007 to the UK's most connected business network — here's how Stream has grown, one deliberate step at a time.
Built for business, from day one.
Every milestone below has been about the same thing: giving UK businesses better connectivity, communications and technology — owned, engineered and supported by us.
Stream Networks is founded
Frustrated by consumer-grade providers, our founders set out with a clear mission: to give UK businesses the fast, reliable, business-first connectivity they deserved — and to back it with genuinely personal support.
Core network build begins
We started building our own carrier-grade core network, laying the foundation for the independent, business-only platform Stream runs on today.
Private cloud infrastructure launched
We invested in our own high-availability private cloud, giving customers secure, UK-based hosting they could trust with their most important workloads.
ISO 27001 & ISO 9001 accredited
Independent accreditation for information security and quality management — proof that security and service excellence are built into everything we do.
DDoS protection rolled out
We implemented always-on DDoS scrubbing across our network, keeping customers connected and protected from attacks 24/7/365.
Cascade customer portal developed
We built Cascade, our leading customer portal, giving customers real-time visibility and control over their services in one place.
Major core network refresh
A significant upgrade to our core introduced software-defined networking, boosting performance, flexibility and resilience across the whole platform.
IoT connectivity platform launched
We launched our own IoT connectivity platform, giving businesses secure, centrally-managed connectivity for connected devices across the UK and beyond.
VoiceLogic platform launched
We launched our own hosted VoiceLogic platform — a fully-featured cloud communications solution purpose-built for business.
4C Managed Services acquired
We acquired 4C Managed Services Ltd to strengthen our cyber security and managed IT services, opening a new office in Shaftesbury, Dorset to extend our reach across the South West.
New Network Operations Centre
We moved into a purpose-built Network Operations Centre in Newbury — a dedicated home for the team that monitors and manages our network around the clock.
LCC Communications acquired
We acquired LCC Communications to enhance our telecommunications portfolio and establish a presence in the North East.
AI Transformation services launched
We launched our new AI Transformation services, helping customers adopt AI and automation to modernise how they work.
Next-generation core & cloud
Looking ahead, we're planning a brand-new core network build and a major update to our cloud infrastructure — alongside further strategic acquisitions to expand our reach, capabilities and portfolio — investing again to keep Stream the UK's most connected, resilient and future-ready business network.

The next chapter starts with you.
Nearly two decades on, we're still driven by the same aim — connecting businesses with technology they can depend on. Let's talk about yours.
